MIT has announced a project “engine on a chip“, funded by the Army, to enhance or substitute the battery power in consumer electronics.
The hot-tech makes use of silicon components to manufacture the conventional parts of a gas-turbine engine that allows turbine blades to rotate at 20,000 revolutions per second and the small generator to generate 10 watts power in a single stroke.
The new battery will not only bring highly developed power to the people but it will prove of immense value to the Army to accomplish their field missions that require additional batteries.
