The iPad is all wonderful the way it is, and I’m sure most of you would agree. But still, just imagine if the iPad could adapt gesture-recognizing abilities like the Microsoft Kinect controller. Now, stop the horses from running wild, and wait for the Consumer Electronics Show aka CES 2011 in Las Vegas, for Elliptic Labs will demonstrate gesture recognition on the iPad there. Dubbed the Touchless Gesture User Interface, this Elliptic’s technology would allow a user to control the iPad using only the gestures (waving etc) of the hand. For this Elliptic Lab provides an iPad dock which courtesy an app and using ultrasound creates a touchless area a foot in front and the sides of the iPad, to allow you to use the iPad without touching – if you just wanted to do so.
