The Electroluminescent wire or the EL wire seems to be the in-thing nowadays. You can see them everyday around the advertisement hoardings, but they are not as complex as they look. You can do exciting stuff with them like putting them on your clothes to make them flashier or using them to create lighting effects on the things you would want to decorate.
EL wires are basically thin copper wire coated in a phosphor, which produce a 360 degree unbroken line of visible light when an AC Current is applied to them. These wires are very flexible as they have very thin diameter, which makes them suitable to be sewn onto your clothes or fitted on any surface, in desired shapes. But there’s just one little downside to these wires as these have a copper core, so break due to repeated bending. Therefore, you would probably use them on places where they face less bending or stretching, if you want them to live longer.
