We wouldn’t read too much into names, but the Eizo C@T-one is certainly a weird gadget for the perennially home-bound. The all-in one donut shaped device (without the hole of course!) is a mouse and a TV remote controller rolled into one. As the images suggest, you have a roller wheel and a centrally located control panel for volume, channel switch, etc. Operating over a 2.4GHz band, the mouse (?) offers a 10m radius capability. The C@T-one supports Windows 2000/XP/Vista as well as Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above.
Pricing and Availability: We are not sure if you have to travel all the way to Japan to bell this C@T, but for now, we’ll leave you with a ¥12,600 (approx $120) tag to ponder over.
Word around the web:
Thomas Ricker from Engadget says:
It’s a mouse, it’s a television remote control — really, besides a bag of chips and a great Belgian lager like Budweiser, what else is needed for a sedentary lifestyle?
Kit Eaton from Gizmodo says:
Curious, but probably very useful if you’ve got your PC hooked up to your TV, and it may also stir some memories for fans of Apple’s old round mouse.
