eccerobot with bones
We’ve got use to seeing robots that look and behave so human. Their exteriors are so human-looking that we don’t bother gazing into their frames. But with an objective rather different, European scientists are doing an Eccerobot, a humanoid, which would have skeleton, joints and tendons just similar to the humans hiding beneath that fake skin of its. The Eccerobot will have its skeleton made in “springy, bone-like, thermoplastic polymer” and will thus mimic each human movement to sheer perfection. The scientist will also stuff the humanoid with sensors and intelligence to interact like humans in all created and real-life environments.

Is there an end to this ever growing precision in robotics? Or do we want to become creators of a mechanical breed of humans? If you want to see how the Eccerobot apes our movements, just hit down for the video.
