The company previously unveiled a 7-inch and 8-inch Nextbook Premium tablets. Now eFun is offering a 9-inch tablet. What’s new?

eFun has been in tablet market for sometime around. In the past, the company launched two models of its Nextbook Premium tablets; a 7-inch Premium7 and an 8-inch Premium8. The company has now come up with a 9-inch model, called Nextbook Premium9. As per reports, the device will arrive in stores this fall. eFun has not yet availed complete details about the product, however. Of course, we will be soon listening to the company on the forthcoming tablet.

What’s been refreshed?

With its small size tablets, eFun mainly aims at eReaders. You can also use the device to surf the web, view images, and watch films. The 9-inch device is certainly an ideal one for eReading. Many people prefer eFun’s tablets with a purpose of eReading. The devices feature Kobo Ebook Store to let you download new eBooks. Moreover, you can read newspapers, magazines and eBooks from other sources on the web. As a whole, the imminent Nextbook Premium9 will be a wonderful and affordable solution for most of your tablet requirements.

Features walkthrough

eFun has not revealed all features of its upcoming Nextbook Premium9. As it is known, the device will be powered by a 1GHz processor. The tablet will feature a 2-megapixel front camera, 4GB internal memory, microSD card slot, and a mini USB port. The tablet will play on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. However, we can expect a Honeycomb update sooner from eFun. The below noted are the potential features of Nextbook Premium9.

Embedded Kobo Bookstore App: Most possibly, Nextbook Premium9 will be up with Kobo Ebook Store. The app will help users buy and download eBooks from the web.

Wi-Fi & SD card: For Internet, you will have Wi-Fi connectivity on the Nextbook tablet. MicroSD slot for memory expansion will also be on the device. Both the features are on Nextbook Premium8.

Capacitive touchscreen: The new eFun tablet will likely be equipped with a capacitive touchscreen. It will help you have a nice eReading experience. You can turn up the pages smoothly and keep reading with no strain for your eyes.

Front facing camera: eFun Nextbook Premium9 will certainly have a front facing camera. Maybe like its predecessors, a rear camera will be missing.

What’s good?

Though the specs of Nextbook Premium9 will resemble with its previous versions, there will be notable changes in design aspect. The new eFun tablet will be pretty comfortable for the eyes of its users. A smooth screen, lightweight body and tidy look are expected to make the upcoming Nextbook Premium9 a stunning product.

What’s not so good?

As it is reported, Nextbook Premium9 will be up with Gingerbread. An Android 3.0 Honeycomb update is only to happen later. The tablet should have come out with Android Honeycomb, the tablet-only version of Android. The possible missing of a rear camera is also a major downfall. Not to have a rear camera will make Nextbook Premium9 less competitive in a market that is crammed with many camera tablets. But its upcoming rival Amazon Kindle Fire is without any cameras.

Price and availability

Actual pricing details of Nextbook Premium9 are not available. It is largely hoped that the device will be priced at $299, the price of the device’s predecessor, Nextbook Premium8.

Wrap up

It is a time small and lightweight tablets are to fill up the technology stores. It was much recently that Amazon announced its 7-inch Kindle Fire and Samsung publicized its 7-inch Galaxy Tab 7 Plus. With the small tablets, technology makers mainly aim at the customers, who want more portability. As well, most of these devices are with a focus on eReading, and web surfing aspects. So is Nextbook Premium9.
