Dr. Evermor's incredibly amazing metal sculptures

Posted By: Naveen Kumar | Oct 15 2007

Looks like some incredible Steampunk creation to me! The 'Forevertron' near Baraboo Wisconsin is the Guinness record holder for the world's largest scrap metal sculpture. Its creator, Dr. Evermor, is a former demolition expert who spent decades collecting antique machinery for the sculpture and the surrounding fiction that justifies it. Standing at 120 feet wide, 60 feet deep, 50-foot tall, and weighing 320 ton, the Forevertron has each and every component salvaged from old bits and pieces of machineries between 50 to 100 years old. The Forevertron is a spacecraft, according to its creator as he explains convictions. Access to the capsule, a sphere of glass coated with a shell oval in copper, is through a sinuous spiral staircase.

Interestingly, the sculpture features a pair of bipolar electrical dynamos constructed by Thomas Edison in the late 19th century and a decontamination chamber from the Apollo space mission. Other than the Forevertron, the entire park is packed with art made from scrap metal, including everything from birds and cats, to strange futuristic looking machines. Check out the picture gallery to explore Dr. Evermor's outstanding creations.
