Even though I personally have never had the opportunity to see a 3D movie in my life, my mum tells me lavish tales of a few she watched in her youth. But I have hope still since hardworking researchers at Dolby Laboratories are working their pants off trying to get the 3D technology up and running for the masses of the future to enjoy. Dolby 3D Digital Cinema technology cinema operators in the near future will be able to playback both 2D and 3D films using DLP projectors eliminating the need for purchasing special and expansive silver screens. A new Dolby 3D playback compatibility program will simplify and standardize the technical requirements of cinema sounds while dual channel and real-time color correction technology will also make cinema-going a much better experience for movie buffs. For the time being XDC’s CineStore Solo G3 server line have become the first to receive the seal of quality from Dolby and we cannot wait for cinemas in our nick of the woods to get it too.
