Who says it takes a big manufacturing unit to construct a rig for aerial photography, when DIY-ers like Eric Austin reign. The Texas-based videographer, Austin has got a Canon 7D DSLR strapped onto his custom-built radio controlled helicopter with a tripod screw mount for some dirt cheap aerial photography. The DIY rig records fly-by footage in full high-definition 1080p res, and relays back live preview of the footage over a 5.8GHz radio downlink. In the future installations for better flying features and precision, Austin vision to include a GPS equipped auto-pilot. Catch some video footages below.
