A restaurant without a waiter at your beck and call can be quite a nightmare. Not with Baggers restaurant, though! In perhaps the first attempt by a restaurant to automate dining services, Baggers has replaced its waiters with touch-screen TVs and rail tracks that spiral down from the top. Apart from the obvious financial benefits, the system will offer customers a new way to ‘dine with a difference’. To place an order, all you need to do is browse the menu through the touchscreen and select your meal. Stickers and corresponding colors serve as indicators for the order. Once the meal is ready, the chef transports it through the rails to the customer’s table. ‘Fast food’, eh? And, if you find it difficult to get a hang of the system, rest assured! There is human help at hand to assist you in acquainting yourself with the technology and the rails. A truly head-turning experience, we say!
