Digital Storm’s new xm15 Laptop promises great battery and performance

Digital Storm has announced the xm15, a powerful new lightweight laptop based on Nvidia’s Optimus Hybrid Technology. The xm15 is a new laptop that delivers targeted extreme performance when required, so that the user enjoys longer operation without losing the ability to relish the visual intensity of HD movies, multimedia applications, web surfing and gaming. With a powerful video card under the hood, the xm15 comes with up to a 1080p HD LED screen that produces the most luscious imagery possible. The laptop stuffs in a light speed eSATA, USB 3.0 transfer ports and built-in HDMI and VGA outputs. Digital Storm notes that the laptop can reach cores above 7200 on 3DMark06, putting it in the upper echelons of laptop performance, for a modest $999 price tag.

The xm15 delivers sumptuous graphics for a variety of multimedia courtesy the Nvidia’s powerful GT 425M 1GB video card. By utilizing Nvidia’s Optimus Hybrid technology, the xm15 defers operation to a second separate integrated Intel graphics processor for less intensive applications. The xm15 with substantially extend battery life, makes provision for switching between the two graphic processors automatically and seamlessly so that there is no interruption in operation.
