Democracy in peril: Analysts find e-voting machines vulnerable

We discussed the loopholes EVMs or electronic voting machines carry earlier, but this time the issue is quite different. Andrea Stone has hit the nail on its head by revealing the true nature of the e-voting machines currently in use, just in time before the November election.

According to a recent study done by the Brennan Center for Justice, 'most of the electronic voting machines pose a real danger to the integrity of national, state and local elections.' The report deftly digs out more than 120 security threats with respect to the electronic voting system as a whole and demands immediate action to study and sort out the weaknesses.

The fact that the computerized gambling slot machines too are hacked many a times clearly shows that EVMs too are not foolproof. However, the task force, appointed to look into the matter is reluctant to believe in it, for its own reasons. It's time for America to wake up as democracy indeed is in peril.
