iPhone 3G is so hot right now with almost everyone and their mother-in-law trying the all the tricks in the trade to land one for themselves. Of course that also means that a tonne of the iPhone 1 devices are going to be rendered obsolete. But mobile phone operators, including AT&T are coming out and reassuring iPhone users that if and when they decide to upgrade to the new Apple handset, and if they choose not re-activate their older device as a wireless phone, it will still be able to function as an iTunes player and will still have access to WiFi allowing users to use it as an iPod Touch substitute. Now that’s hot, though we strongly suggest you upgrade your old iPhones to 2.0 software before deactivating them.
