If you are one of those who blokes who are tired of the incessant bombardment of information about iPhones, Wii, mp3 players which don’t just play mp3 files, here is something that might appeal to you. An old fashioned radio. A portable radio which is just that and no added features. Designer Sebastian Pfirter probably knew there are many people around who long for the good ol’ radio, which has metamorphosed into something unrecognizable after the advent of net stations and live streaming. The radio in question is called Dario, which is an anagram for radio of course. This small simple device can be used anywhere and you just have to push slightly above the display to switch it on or off. The two buttons on the sides do the job of tuning and adjusting the volume. The feet can be folded before you decide to take it around. The two curves represent the loudspeaker caps. From afar, it might look like a warhead, but it actually is a simple, elegant and tastefully designed portable radio. Listen to it in the car, at the kitchen, in the room, in your office, wherever you wish to. This is one such radio, which might in fact on an exaggerated note, compete with the iPod.
