Daikin’s world’s first hybrid heater is easy on pocket and emissions

Daikin Industries Ltd has managed to create a hybrid heater that combines the heat pump and induction heating system. Aimed at business establishments, the “Pawa Dan Heat” reduces emissions by up to 40% and power bill by up to 55% as compared to a combustion-type heater and yet delivers performance on a similar scale. The reason behind creating the world’s first heat pump-IH hybrid heater was twofold. First the conventional heat pump heaters have a long startup time and second as soon as their outdoor equipment gets frosted their performance is hampered. That is why the IH system was added which kicks into operation as soon as either of the two situations arises. The heater would be released in two models - "SPDH112A" and "SPDH160A," with heating performances of 11.2kW and 16.0kW, respectively. The prices are approximated at ¥460,000 and ¥560,000 respectively when these become available come November.
