SIM2 (not Sims 2 you gaming fad) can proudly bear the tag of having one the most highly priced and high-performance projectors for home theaters. They’ve just added a new gem to their DOMINO line-up which is actually quite affordable considering prices of their other products. DOMINO D60 is tagged at 4,995 USD and promises full-HD crystal clear picture quality at 1080p. SIM2 is known for superb quality and awesome styling, though this one is not as stylish as their C3X 1080 DLP projector but then that costs around $32,000. But D60 is still a great looking projector that catches one’s eye with its simplistic looks. DOMINO D60 might sound expensive to few but movie enthusiasts surely know the difference. D60 is equipped with Texas Instruments’ latest 1080p ‘DarkChip3’ 0.95” DMD chipset. BrilliantColor and Dynamic Black are two new improvements that set this chip apart from others.
BrilliantColor provides better optical efficiency and hence enhances system’s existing color panel, where as, Dynamic Black enhances contrast and effective black-level. These two technological advancements coupled with other technologies provide extended contrast ratio (>10,000:1) and crystal clear picture without any motion blurs. D60 comes with three preset modes Cinema, Dynamic, and Standard and there are three user-customizable memories that allow user to tweak settings according to the environment and needs.
As if the feature sheet was any small, it’s got dual HDMI inputs, components, RGB-HD, serial control and 12-v trigger. Powered vertical lens shift is +60/-40 and with variable Iris it provides 50-200 inch picture. D60 is all-video-standards compatible and can handle aspect ratios of 16:9, anamorphic, letterbox, and pixel-for-pixel.
If you are a sincere movie addict and can afford such a beauty then this Black-Shadow-Matte finished powerful projector is up for the taking, at $4,995.
