Cypress gets touchscreens to react to hovering fingers

Cypress touchscreens have been around for quite some time, gracing the smartphones like the Palm Pre and the Nokia S60. Now, Cypress has made an iconic move with the TrueTouch screens to add that extra feature of hovering to it touchscreens. With the introduction of TrueTouch screens the smartphones will be able to detect hovering movements – i.e. identify the presence of a finger near the screen and move the cursor without touching the screen. Cypress expects to make the module available to manufacturers for smartphones, PDAs and tablets sometime in Q2 2010.
