Gaming freaks…. sit up and take note! If you have been scouting around to learn how to create a flight simulator & game console on your own, you have come to the right place. The Lockheed F-117A Stealth Fighter has always been an ‘objet de desir’ for men and here we are, creating a PC that brings the spirit of this kick-ass aircraft alive. And for sure, we are going to see a lot of sharp angles on this case mod. The front of the case is going to replicate the cockpit of the aircraft, along with all the gauges. For the ultimate simulation, we will need three 17inch monitors. Technical specs will include an MSI K8N Neo Platinum SLi Mobo, AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 processor, WD Raptor Series 74GB 10,000 RPM SATA Hard Drive, CORSAIR XMS Xtreme Memory Speed Series, Xtra-Low Latency 184-Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200, Dual nVidia Graphics Card NX6800-TD256E SLi and Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2. All set to take off?

The first and foremost task in creating a PC case mod is developing a paper model of the concept. This will offer you a clear idea about the dimensions. Once the paper model is ready, lay your hands on the foamboard and get started with the actual design. The canopy of the mod would be a handful, but that’s the most exciting part. Once the first few pieces of the shell comprising .060 high impact styrene plastic are cut and fixed together, your task is almost done. An all aluminum metal frame will act as the support for this case. Leave plenty of room for the PSU and HDD while cutting this frame. The ductwork for the PSU and HDD exhaust system comes next. Integrate the mobo and graphics cards into the top section of the shell.
To make sure your case replicates the compactness of the legendary fighter plane (albeit on a smaller scale), reinforce the interior of the shell with resin and fiberglass. Once this is done, paint the rig and assemble it. Next in line is the integration of the monitor with the casing. The touchscreen is a beauty and you would just love it. Do not forget to create an opening for Crystal Fontz 635 in the HUD area. The assemblage of the electronics will be the final task in your case mod. Your Skunkworks Stealth F-117A Flight Simulator is all ready to rock!
