Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S, in the meantime, features some larger 4.2-inch TFT display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.

Operating system:

The new iPhone plays on iOS 5, the most recent version of Apple’s famous mobile OS. You have around 200 cutting-edge features on iOS 5, including Siri voice recognition, iCloud and much more. Apple announced the new iOS 5 version for iPhone, iPad, and iPod for at WWDC 2011.

On the other hand, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S runs on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. In fact, Google Android’s iOS 5 killer is not Gingerbread; it is the newly launched Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Maybe, Xperia Arc will be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich quite soon.

Winner: Apple iPhone 4S.

Apple iPhone 4S is equipped with a 1GHz dual core ARM Cortex-A9 processor that encloses Apple’s famous A5 chipset and PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU. Winner:

Indeed, the ultimate winner of the above comparison is iPhone 4S. In almost all parameters reviewed, Apple’s new generation iPhone is outperforming its Sony Ericsson rival, Xperia Arc S. Apple iPhone 4S is certainly more advanced in both hardware and software aspects in comparison to Xperia Arc S.

The verdict:

A huge crowd of customers had been in waiting for the arrival of the next generation iPhone for several months. As per Apple’s tradition, the 2011 iPhone upgrade was expected to come up in June this year. However, Apple delayed its official release until the second week of October. Whatever it may be, with many outstanding features, iPhone 4S has been creating ripples in stores since then. Sony Ericsson may be one of top smartphones on Android. However, it is not competent enough to take on iPhone 4S in a fray. However, Android lovers may prefer Xperia Arc S to iPhone 4S, because it is one of the most wonderful Android smartphones we have in stores.
