Combating cancer would be easy with tiny solar cells in patient’s body

Number of people suffering from cancer in rising and this increase in number has coerced researchers around the world to come up with inventive solutions to fight back. We know that the chemotherapy besides damaging the malignant tumors has many bad effects on the body of the patients. With the aim to just hit the cancerous areas and not everything on the way there, researchers from the University of Texas in El Paso have created tiny solar cell. It is anticipated that introduction of the photovoltaics into medicine will help combat cancer precisely. The model drugs when attached to each side of the cell will help hit the cancerous cells. The new method would enable the medication to be released only at a specific juncture thereby altering the intensity of light that would control the amount of drug released. Currently, it’s a concept but we all can hope that the new invention would help a great deal in fighting cancer.
