Color A Sound lets you draw music

Color A Sound is an art installation by Blair Neal, which uses an overhead projector and a roll of transparency to create a juke box. All you are required to do is use colored markers to make random patterns on the sheet. The random patterns can include lines, dots and may be even illustrations. Once the patterns are complete, the camera pointed at projected results converts all the drawings into music, playing back corresponding samples from a music box. The scrolling of manual works in both the directions and at any speed that you desire. All the sounds do not cease until you erase the transparency, but once you have done so all the samples are stored indefinitely. Its like doodling, but the only difference is result, which is not a drawing, but a piece of music that is as raw as your thoughts.
