
Citibank Singapore is now offering a new better way for credit card holders to make their payments. This new biometric payment system is a good for fraud prevention and will please the tech-savvy population. The new system is much safer as it includes a 7-digit pin code along with your fingerprint.
The idea behind introducing this new system is to compete the market and motivate its customers to spend more. This system is much more convenient for the users as their is no need to always carry a credit card, you can buy anything, anywhere with a single swipe of your finger and feeding a 7 digit secure pin code.
The bank has started with this system with Clear Platinum cardholders, which include mostly an age group of 25 to 34 to make the uptake stronger. So far, Citibank’s biometric payment systems are in place at only a handful of outlets in Singapore, including local coffee shops and the popular nightclubs. Citibank has installed kiosks at several Singapore branches where cardholders can register their fingerprints. To sign up, Citibank customers need to provide valid photo identification and a seven-digit numeric passcode used with the fingerprint to authenticate payment.
