China has been a land of DIY means of transportation. Chinese innovative-farmers have gone down to the depths of the water in the DIY submarine and have conquered the air in the wooden helicopter. Now, to take a further leap, a Chinese farmer Shu Mansheng has created a DIY ultra-light aircraft in just 8 odd months. Measuring 4.5-meters in length, the plane is powered by two motor engines. Built at a cost of about 5,000 yuan (approx. $733), the plane was put up for a test by Shu in the in Wuhan, Hubei province. "The plane was in the skies for some seconds before crashing into a neighborhood compound." It is still a long way for Shu before the plane can be dubbed a real success, but then he deserves all the credit for his valiant effort.
