China to craft $125 PCs for Schools and Local Governments

Following the footsteps of the 146$ Linux Municator PC, I hope it's still on your mind, and One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project, ZhongKe Menglan Electronics Technology, a Chinese-based computer company is set to manufacture thousands of Cut-Rate PCs to allocate to schools and local governments featuring Linux, 256Mb of RAM, 40 or 60GB hard drive, and Godson-2 CPU clocked amid 800 MHz and 1 GHz.

Initial successful sales will lead to the mass production of the units and cut down the initial cost of $150 - $175 to US $125. However, allegations of low-grade processor devises are interrupting the process.
