Pioneer has just announced its new line of speakers. The TS-D line of speakers by Pioneer uses basalt fabric in its cones. The company claims that the volcanic stone gets heated to 2700 degrees. Thereafter, it is drawn into fibers, which provide for cones that are stronger and yet light.
TS-D speakers incorporate the latest in sound engineering efforts. Made up of Dual Layer IMX Aramid / Basalt fiber composite cones, these speakers claim-to-fame is in accurate and detailed reproduction of sound. As mentioned already, the cones are ultra-light and the domes are made to compliment this. The dome tweeters are made up of laminated polyester and the rear chamber is designed in a manner that produces a wider frequency response. In effect the sound is directed towards the listener’s ears.
This line of speakers has 13 different models ranging in size from 4″ to 6″ X 9″, and will retail for around $150. With a one year warranty to go along, these are a definite buy.
