If you're going to go in for a new DVD player, then the latest one from Memorex is good enough to be bought on eye-candy factor alone, regardless of the specs. The features might not be cutting edge but the designs surely are interesting.

Memorex has announced two DVD player models at the CES. One is a set-top variant while the other is a portable one. The company claims that its products merge style with the latest in technology. We don't know about the technology bit but we can definitely comment on the style factor. Both the models feature a light pink metallic or rich black finish, which provide for a refreshing new look for the DVD players.

The set-top variant is called the Memorex MVD 2040-FLR and plays DVD, audio CD, CD R/W, picture CD and MP3. It features Dolby(R) Digital sound, S-Video and comes with a full function remote control.

Then there's the portable version, the Memorex MVDP1085-FLRB. This one touts an 8.4-inch swiveling widescreen LCD and plays all R/W DVD and CD formats. It has a battery that can last up to 2 hrs of playback and the built in stereo speakers ensure good listening experience.

Both the players will be retailed in April and cost $39.99 (portable) and $149.99 (set-top). If you've been as impressed by the looks of these babies as we have been, these should be on top of your wish list.
