Concepts galore at CES this year and Fujitsu isn’t the one to miss out. It has announced not one but four different concept products already. Here’s a brief on these:
• Card Viewer: in information-sharing device. Works like a notepad, ‘e-paper’ sleeves can be used to store info. Tear one off and hand it to a friend, the info stays onscreen.
• Clerk Browser: a cool wristband for salesclerks. It stores detailed information for customers like product locations, inventory levels, etc.
• Fabric PC: a laptop that can be folded like a portfolio made of paper (more on this later).
• Customer Browser: a device that contains maps of large stores and information like product location, descriptions, and an on-line help. Customers can use this gadget to register products, have alerts mailed to them for up-coming sales, make purchases etc.
Of all the imaginative things that Fujitsu has listed, Fabric PC has touched a soft spot. It seems most interesting of all. Fujitsu has floated this one as a PC that “can comfortably be carried like portfolio of paper.” Due to the flexibility, the PC can function as a notebook, notepad, address book and a digital map.
The concept images look just great and we do hope that this concept doesn’t remain confined to papers for too long.

Comments
According to some IT reporters, the Fujitsu reception people said:” MAYBE IN FIVE YEARS.” this design would be put to production.
Let’s hope this design will actually be realized, although detailed specifications of it was not well exposed.
What do you think of this design?
