Cebit stormed with Samsung's Origami device

While the Microsoft Origami still remains the bone of contention, here we've Samsung's Origami device on the platter. Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. showcased its first device that parallels Microsoft Corp.'s Origami project at the Cebit electronics show, Hanover, Germany. The handheld computer runs a special edition of Windows XP and is a blend of a tablet PC and a PDA.

The 15 cm by 20 cm 'ultramobile device' Q1 is powered by a 900MHz Intel Corp. Celeron microprocessor and boasts of 500MB of RAM and 30GB HDD. It's loaded with GPS, DMB, WLAN (wireless local area network), 802.11 A/G and Bluetooth 2.0 connections, WiBRO support and is controlled by a touch-screen. To run a video you don't have to launch the full XP operating system owing to its instant-on multimedia player.
