CeBit: ImCoSys Linux-Smartphone listens to your body with Skinplex NFC

The Swiss ImCoSys showcased its Linux Smartphone at CeBIT 2006 in Hannover, Germany. The GPS smartphone with Linux operating system features:

3. Bluetooth

4. TFT touchscreen with 262,144 colors at a resolution of 240x320 pixels that can also be controlled via a stylus

5. Texas Instruments' OMAP-730 processor running at 200 MHz

6. 64 MByte expandable memory

7. Software: Webbrowser, Email client with POP3, push email, SMS, MMS, and PIM functionalities

Also the 125x64x18mm Quad band GSM smartphone supports the 850, 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz bands, GPRS class 10, WLAN 802.11b and Bluetooth 1.2. Sadly it comes without an in-built camera but comes with modular hardware expansion slot to hook in one.

What makes the smartphone stand apart is its Skinplex technology that creates a body-net with coverage up to 3 meters. It'll be shipped in June for 298 Euro.
