To help increase the lifespan of satellites already in space and to minimize on the space junk, MacDonald Dettwiler and Associates (MDA) are en route in developing a satellite service station, which would assist in refueling and recharging the satellites in orbit. Given the technological advancement and the consistent shooting of rockets and satellites into space and steady thinning of the thermosphere, the problem of junk has increased in space. Therefore MDA’s refueling and recharging station which would add fuel and replace batteries of the orbiting satellites will to an extent curb the issue of space junk and also increase life span of orbiting satellites to twice or thrice.
