Bryston defies contemporary mechanism, build's CD player all by hand

There are few who believe mechanizations as the end, while the other clan outrightly differs - for them still, conventional is better. Meet men at Bryston, who derive motivation from the latter bit. Their notion of excellence simply reads, 'automation has no place in high-end audio manufacturing,' and this is what they strive for, doing things that me 'n' you, or the high-tech World would least fathom.

Bryston has hand-build a CD player. That is not easy to gulp, but then I introduced you to what these men are capable off, or didn't I. The CD player and the entire streak of preamplifier and power amplifiers have been put together at their Peterborough, Ontario factory.

Dubbed the Bryston BCD-1 CD player, it is a contemporary Redbook CD and CDR playback. The player is conceived with the audiophile in mind, for great quality and outstanding performance.

The Bryston player's every part is selected and installed by hand, every wire is cut and bent by hand, and every connection is soldered by hand too. The audio circuits employed use fully discrete devices, independent analog and digital power supplies; the entire handwork is apparently expensive but then that's how Bryston engineers work their way to simplicity.

The BCD-1 backed by a three-year parts and labor warranty, also comes equipped with transformer coupled SPDIF and AES EBU, balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA Stereo outputs, remote 12 Volt Trigger, fully functional IR remote control and digital and optical outputs.

Every product manufactured undergoes individual testing from the men at Bryston, a trait that helps them live up to their claim, of ranking their construction techniques at par with military and aerospace industries.

Price for the hand manufactured CD player is $2395.
