Brown engineers run charge through plastic
A coupl of engineers from Brown University have created a new battery that uses plastic instead of current conducting metal. The device possesses the power of a capacitor with the storage capacity 100 times the capacity of an alkaline battery. The transparent plastic chip contains dimensions smaller than an iPod nano.

The coworkers initiated experiment with a new energy-storage system using a substance called polypyrrole, a chemically complex substance that can carry an electrical charge.
The rechargeable batteries having the similar mechanism as that of capacitors can stay charged after charging and provide power slowly like a battery. The batteries will soon appear in the market to vanish out the dominance of alkali batteries.
