Lockheed in America is developing a fuel cell-powered version of the HULC (Human Universal Load Carrier) exoskeleton, which will go on for days without running out of power. This, because the best an efficient soldier can be helped is by lowering the weight on his back. For this, the British Ministry of Defense has awarded a research grant to Intelligent Textiles Limited to develop conductive clothing which would power radios and weapons. These uniforms, with the ability to store and conduct electricity, would function as batteries for soldiers on the battlefield and thus decrease that extra battery weight each soldier has to carry with him. Wearable technology has developed a long way and therefore we have no doubt as to why these uniforms (wearable conductive clothing cannot be developed).
