Varying trends in fashion have got us into an arena where even the most intricate trend seems so modest. Yet, those striving to take the levels even higher find some way or other to make beyond the cuts. Such is this brass belt buckle that’s a tad different than the other style defining we’ve seen gracing the fashionista dedicated discourses. The belt buckle here houses a functional MP3 player in the center.

There is no screen here as like all modern gadgetry, but there are up and down buttons on the navigation switch to change volume, while the button in the middle helps you stop and play a particular song. Changing the song has been made easy with the use of an accelerometer, which helps change tracks with a slight shake hip thrust. And worry not, a triple color LED starts flashing when you’re shaking that belly too hard.


Casey, a mechanical engineer at SparkFun, came upon this brass buckle and thought of stuffing a music player from MP3 development board into it. But the development board’s player didn’t fit into the space on the buckle so the guys at SparkFun custom-built a circuit board themselves that fit rightly into the rectangular slot on the buckle, and finally this innovative music playing brass buckle was made.
