brain-interface
A team from the Technical University of Berlin says that they can practically construct a brain-interface that will improve the reaction time upto 100 millisecond during emergency situations when mind entangles itself in multiple tasks. That means it can reduce breaking distance by nearly 3 meters when traveling at 100 kilometers per hour. Applying it in driving cars will prevent a number of accidents and causalities. The team used ectroencephalograms (EEGs) to monitor and measure drivers’ brain activity during their tests on 12 male and five female drivers in ordinary, non-rush hour conditions on a German highway and found it working. When the level was detected above threshold, the brain-interface device was rigged up. It reduces the distractions during periods of high brain activity and helps the subject to concentrate on a single task. The developers are looking for modifications such as less intrusive EEG equipments and if possible, more rapid than EEG. They hope to deliver the device within the next fiver years. However, I doubt, what if it did the opposite of what is ought to do.
