The Boeing-SkyHook joint venture, JHL-40 (Jess Heavy Lifter) is a unique rotorcraft, capable of carrying frights in remote areas where road and water transportation are inaccessible or in a precarious state. The monster rotorcraft can lift a 40-ton sling load and fly upto 200 miles without refueling in critical environments like the Canadian Arctic and Alaska. The cost effective aircraft is supported by four rotors to lift the loads without causing any adverse environmental impact, while ensuring safety to the crews. Hence, it is highly useful in critical mining, forestry and oil and gas operations in harsh regions. The JHL-40 features a reduced carbon footprint, eight-engine aircraft and four directional propellers. The aircraft will be functional from 2012.
