Authenticity and old world classicism will certainly take a beating. And Bob Dylan wouldn’t be too happy about it. However, when there is a built-in synthesizer in your guitar, you have no reason to complain, do you? A band called Guitar Zeroes have lived up to their name by converting traditional acoustics into computer-driven virtual notes. The band uses a guitar that doesn’t need to be strummed. Five binary-sequenced buttons are programmed through a computer and all you need to do is run your fingers over them and let the music play all by itself. Sounds cool, ain’t it. The Guitar Hero Guitar controller uses just an adaptor to connect to the computer and a music software (here, Max MSP) to key in notes into the buttons. A couple of controls on the guitar can help you switch to a single-string sound option. Now, this is what we call ‘innovation’.
