A Maruti 800 has been endowed with the four necessary forces required to fly. The idea of flying a Maruti originated in the mind of A.K. Vishwanath from Bangalore, who derived his source of inspiration from many flying sources. The 52-year-old has been working for 16 years on this flying Maruti concept along with his company B'Lorean - a synthesis between Bangalore and winged DeLorean sports car (featured in Hollywood's Back To The Future) of the 1980s. Vishwanath contends that his heavier-than-air concept has a vertical lift-off capability which has already been tested in a wind tunnel.

A.K Vishwanath is very much excited about his innovation and has managed nearly 40 patents. He has been approached by many firms that are willing to fund his project. But Mr. Vishwanath says that "Business talk can begin, but only once the necessary paperwork is out of the way."

The concept of a flying car is not new. Such concepts were tested also in 1930. There is another company called Terrafugia Transition in the US which is devising such roadable aircrafts. The company has been established by US university graduates, and their motto is "It's time to make the transition.” The aircrafts developed by the company can fold their wings, and they can be driven in any type of platform at a speed of 425 nmi.
