P2P file sharing client BitTorrent has announced that its technology will be embedded into nine new consumer routers to make file sharing easier.

Server manufacturers Asus, Planex and QNAP will be the first to integrate the technology, into their wireless routers, media servers and network attached storage devices.

The basic idea behind the technology is that users will be able to download using their Laptops, when the download initiates they will take their Notebooks out of range while the router continues to share the torrent.

Three Asus routers, five Planex routers and two QNAP servers will embed the technology and the download manager.
