bionic contact lens computer in the eye
Tapping onto the two most prominent essentialities of modern existence, health and computing, researchers from the Washington University are developing contact lens featuring the characteristics of both.

The bionic lens is only in the pipeline now, but the objectives researchers have backing it are real. Reaching the ultimate miniaturization, the Boffins want to get the lens behaving like computer in the eye. Functioning like a computer monitor the lens will communicate data with an external mobile phone or PDA and be recharged with a small solar cell.

Besides the computing ability the lens will also monitor the individual’s health, relaying out real time information gathered by the included medical sensors. This is some really complicating stuff that these guys are trying, will they actually pull this off? They should, it is promising anyways.
