BioLite Solo: Sleek yet limited fingerprint-based access controller

Posted By: Jayprashanth Mohanram | May 19 2008

Fingerprint recognition for access control is soon becoming the norm across organizations all over the world. To cater to this growing demand, we have Suprema coming out with the BioLite Solo access controller. This access controller comes packaged in a smart form factor that will sit nicely on a wall. Coming to it's main function of fingerprint recognition, the BioLite Solo has the capability of storing up to two hundred users' fingerprints. This makes it somewhat limited, especially for firms with a large headcount. On the other hand, it has a very impressive log of 5000 entries. For our part, we'd like to see the log's memory being sacrificed to accommodate more users' fingerprints. The BioLite Solo also brings in some additional safety in the form of a PIN system. Overall, a good looking fingerprint based access controller that could do with additional storage memory for it's fingerprint database.
