benq_3342The BenQ family of projectors has two new additions. The W20000 and W5000 are cinema class projectors that offer unmatched compatibility with devices ranging from traditional VCR to the most advanced Blu-Ray and HD DVD players. Along with BenQ’s cutting-edge Senseye Technology, the 1080p HD projectors also feature Texas Instruments’ 1080p DarkChip3 and DarkChip2 DLP DMP chipsets respectively. The projectors also make use of Philips’ ViDi lighting technology and the HQV (Holly Quality Video) high-performance video processor at a high 20000:1 (10000:1 for W5000) contrast ratio. The projectors come with four viewing modes, viz. Cinema, Dynamic, Standard and Photo.

The W20000 and W5000 leverage the Dual Iris technology to provide users with greater control over image contrast and brightness. With no compromise on the image quality, dark images can get darker and bright ones brighter. The DynamicBlack technology ensures that the iris aperture is adjusted accurately for optimum light levels. 480p, 576p, 720p, 1080i and 1080p formats are supported, while three memory slots are also provided for storage. The W20000 and W5000 offer noise-free images at as low as 25dB. Two HDMI slots, in-built ISFccc (ISF Certified Calibration Controls) and Panamorph lenses, which offer a full screen experience at an aspect ratio of 2.35:1, wrap-up the impressive feature suite.

Priced at £2,499 and £1,399 respectively, the W20000 and W5000 are not quite easy on your pocket. However, it is a small price to pay for the exceptional viewing experience offered by these projectors.
