Souvenir Cranwell has developed a battery regenerator for regular, non-rechargeable alkaline batteries, which aims to give users a chance to use regular batteries repeatedly.
Company patented invention is based on a Thomas Edison patent of 1922. Carnwell claims that by using this device, you can regenerate a battery up to a 100 times, and that most alkaline batteries, including Duracell Plus and Energizer Ultra can be regenerated to 95% of their original capacity. It also works on certain heavy duty and titanium batteries.
A cell can be regenerated on an average 11 times according to the company but researchers have managed a best result of 104 cycles but the regeneration takes 72 hours which is well time consuming.
To avoid the danger of overheating and explosions the device uses a low current of 35mA. In addition, the company has also developed a Solar Battery Regenerator, which is even more environment friendly.
