BASTLI Interactive Color LED Dance Floor: Unleashed for those who like to twist

For those who love to party all night comes a new super-stylish interactive color LED disco floor by BASTLI. Intelligently crafted in a student lab for around 1.5 years, this project was put forth by Mario Mauerer and Lukas Schrittwieser. This latest piece of technology is specially built for party animals.

The amazingly interactive disco floor contains over 640 RGB LEDs. It can identify if someone is standing on it. As it detects presence, this dance floor brings in fantastic animations on the floor. Well, the BASTLI interactive color LED dance floor employs a capacitive method to recognize the presence of an individual. This approach is often referred to as RC-oscillator.

It comes with 8 AVRs and 8 CPLDs as well. Apart from that, the disco floor houses a Java program along with more than 1km of wiring for detecting presence. This latest creation by BASTLI helps play party games that all can fall in love with. Budding dancers can now experiment with innovative moves and also compete with others, thanks to the LED dance floor by BASTLI.

The novel dance floor accommodates approximately 10000 hand-soldered points, one FPGA and one embedded PC. The interactive color LED dance floor utilizes not only the FPGA-Board but also the Embedded PC to keep a tab on dance moves. Its power supply as well as the FPGA-Board and the Embedded PC have been crammed together in an Apple G5-case to simplify the disco floor’s overall look.

Both Mario Mauerer and Lukas Schrittwieser believe that this dance floor can rock the party with its cool LEDs. The dance floor’s extremely interactive tiles make games fun and the party a memorable one. So far there hasn't been an official word on the availability and pricing details of the new BASTLI interactive color LED disco floor.
