B.A. Bar™ gives voice to the speechless

People suffering from speech loss can now communicate with their loved ones on phones with the help of hand-held devices that'll do all the talking. A barcode reader, B.A. Bar™, developed in Switzerland and being used at the University of Virginia. The words are transformed into barcodes using the device that can be read on a black-and-white strip installed somewhere else via a scanner.
