Because technology shouldn’t only benefit the healthy, we often appreciate innovations that intend to make the difference for the special. Yes, and that’s why it was just fitting to feature B-Touch, a touchscreen phone made special for the blind, here. Perhaps, there have been a host of cellphones made for the blind and we’ve seen them around, but this one from designer Zhenwei has been based on the touchscreen technology for the blind and thereby uses a touchscreen display for Braille. Including voice systems and programs to function as a phone, the B-Touch also supports a system for navigation along a book reader and an object recognizer. Ah! So we also have a book reading facilitator in the phone for the visually challenged, a great introduction, we’ve not seen before in a phone.
