Red Dot Awards 08 saw a bunch of ergonomic products, but none were, arguably, as interesting as the two mice that this bit’s about. Ergonomic and weird, Trioc 3D Pro and Wowpen Joy Mouse were the winners of Product Design 2008 and both are unique in an obvious manner. Trioc 3D Pro mouse looks large and gawky, but has functionality up its sleeve. It is basically useful for those who work extensively on CAD applications. Coming from Sweden’s Trioc AB, the Trioc 3D Pro is sold for $580 and has 3D navigation capabilities. The sphere-shaped puck in the middle is the part that’s responsible for moving, zooming and panning.

Wowpen Joy Mouse comes from Korean makers Wow Technology and is designed in a vertical form, much like an iceberg. This attractive peripheral has as many as 5 buttons, one of which is a second right click button. The Wowpen Joy Mouse is a conception of Euidu Hwang and Sangpyo Kim. It is used by wrapping fingers around, much like a joystick (or a pen) and is also plug-and-play. Both these mice have a common claim to fame in that both are ergonomic. Needless to say they are great to look at too.

Oh wow, in words of AC/DC ”He’s got big balls” errrrrrr ball, that looks soo out of this world man, great design idea, was exactly a best among others.
ergonomics has always been an important thing for the design of computer related products ever since people started feeling the pinch of over using computers on their health. With such product designers around, world is going to get more comfortable with each passing day, kudos to them
