Michael Jackson, a Jersey City man, has built a plane, well, in his house. Jackson, built a 785 pound airplane in near about 14 months. A stickler for time as he seems, he completed his 'project' as he had predicted and planned. Jackson has been a computer programmer and his employment as a consultant, working from home, it seems provided the latitude of time that he utilized in building the airplane.

Although the plane is more of a glider, Jackson says, he developed interest in making one of these when he visited an air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He came across a demonstration model at the show and immediately ordered it. Honing his interest in things that he can really get into, he signed up for the workshop and got the kit delivered to his home. In his house, he had to be very planned and measured as to where he could build his plane. There were some alterations made to the hand rails and a little nudging of stuff from here to there and he was all ready to build the plane from scratch.
Jackson accomplishing this feat reinforces the fact that you don't have to be an airplane engineer to build an airplane. It does infuse hope into kids trying to make airplanes at their schools. Although I doubt if the airplane kit manufacturers are doing a background check on who they are shipping the kits to. If not, that could spell real scary danger.
End of it all, I wonder, how he managed to roll the plane out of his house. May be he fixed the 25 foot wings once he could roll the plane outside his house. Who knows. We do know the fact, this can be done and has been done.
