Display Taiwan 2009 is slated for June 10 through June 12, while the world is waiting to see what new props up there, AU Optronics has confirmed to showcase the world’s largest 3D display flaunting a 65-inch screen along with an e-book, to compete with Kindle DX, not really sure of that.
Along with the 65-inch display that is projected to have 140% enhanced brightness owing to the 3D backlight design, AUO will also showcase a 17-inch 3D display with brightness increased by 60%. While the other 4.3-inch and 8-inch 3D panels are tailored to 2D/3D viewing. AUO will also have a 52-inch full HD LCD TV in the show window, which make the cut for its built-in 240Hz technology which lets the panel transmits 240 signals per second, awesome indeed.
The AUO e-book slated to be introduced to make a cut in the growing e-paper technology and receding printing industry will be a 6-inch touch function e-book with 800×600 resolutions. Expected to hit the market later this year, the e-book also has 16 gray levels, high contrast ratio and high reflectance. No word on price or details on either product, we anticipate hearing a lot more from the Display Taiwan event.
