Now you may take a sigh of relief, for AT&T Inc. has come up with a home monitoring service, which combines live video surveillance on a computer or cell phone (limited to mobile phones from Cingular Wireless only) and lighting controls with detection sensors for motion, temperature alteration and flooding as well.

Compatible with any broadband Internet service, the monitoring service will cost $9.95 monthly, excluding a wireless Internet package costing $10 to $20 per month and a $199 equipment package consisting of a video camera, a motion sensor for a door or window, a central router to connect systems to the Internet in addition with two power-outlet units to connect the camera and the router.

In case of any change or motion across the video camera or opening of window or door, pre programming of the system sends an alert through e-mail or wireless text message.

Though, wide range of remote surveillance equipments are already available, the AT&T system presents a variety of innovative and up to date attributes, and adds one more option to your home safety measures.
